Skid Steers

Product Description

Skid steers are becoming one of the most valuable assets to contractors because of their incredible utility based on the wide variety of attachments they can use. Skid steers come in three different frame sizes that accommodate different workloads.

Small-frame skid steers weigh in at 1,750 pounds and feature 50-horsepower engines. Their small size makes them suitable for jobs such as interior demolition.

The medium-frame skid steer class ranges from 1,750–2,200 pounds in weight and 50–70 hp. The ability to switch from any of a wide variety of attachments quickly makes the medium-framed skid steers a popular choice due to their high versatility.

The large frame range is any skid steer over 2,200 pounds with 70 hp or greater. It’s best used for grading, excavating and heavy lifting.

The skid steer is most commonly mistaken for a track loader, as they are very similar in the way they look and maneuver. However, a skid steer is a tired vehicle, while a track loader moves on tracks. As tired vehicles, skid steers offer an advantage on improved terrain such as roads and can make tighter turns.
