Crawler Loaders

The crawler loader, also referred to as a track loader, began as a tractor with tracked chassis and a loader for excavation applications. Although excavators and wheel loaders can outperform a track loader in some conditions, track loaders offer greater utility over unimproved or sensitive ground conditions.

Early designs looked like bulldozers with a bucket, were cable-operated like bulldozers of that era, and could not dig well in hard ground.  

Today’s track loaders are purpose-built, hydraulically-operated designs with hydrostatic transmissions that offer distinct advantages over wheeled machines. Primarily, the low-ground pressure and stability offered by their track bands enable them mobility over soft, wet, or rough terrain.  

Track loaders, like their wheeled counterparts, are highly versatile machines due to a wide variety of attachments used with them. However, since they offer greater stability with less damage to the ground.
